A Request

*Disclaimer: This is a boring post. It does not say anything new and exciting about my life, but I am asking for advice from anyone who reads this post, so if you choose to, please read on.

Dear Readers,

Since beginning my career as a teacher I seem to be catching every cough, cold, bug, etc. that comes into the school, whether a student I teach has it or not. I'm trying to live a healthier lifestyle to enable my body to stay healthy around all these germs, or at least to be healthy while I'm working through having a bug. The internet can tell me all sorts of wonderful things about people I don't know, but you are all people I DO know. What things have worked to help keep you healthy or to help you get healthy again after being sick? I'm open to super weird things, or simple everyday things.

Please comment if you have any great ideas, I'm not looking for anything urgent, I just think I need to be doing more to take care of my body so I'm starting to gather thoughts.

World's Best Aunt

I love being an aunt, and I was able to do so much with my nieces and nephews this summer. It has been wonderful!!! Here is photographic evidence that I'm totally the favorite aunt.

This next picture doesn't have me in it, but I helped make those cute bikes look amazing, so those cute kids could ride in the 4th of July bike parade!

So Long Summer!

This summer was so much fun! I didn't have a job, which is a new thing for me. I did, however, start volunteering as an ordinance worker at the Salt Lake City temple. This was one of the highlights of my summer! I love the temple so much, and having the opportunity to help other people enjoy the temple makes it that much greater. I often pick up extra shifts because I enjoy it so much. There was a boy in my last ward who volunteered in the temple who would say he wanted to live in the temple. I had thought that was a nice sentiment until I started volunteering there. Now I understand. It really is the House of the Lord and it is the place on earth where work is done to influence our eternal happiness. Kind of a big deal. I love it!

I also went on some vacations this summer. I got to drive to California with my sister-in-law and my nephews. It has been a while since I went on a vacation with small children and I loved it! They find joy so easily and it made the trip so exciting and exhilarating! Here are a few of my favorites:

I also got to go back to California by myself to visit my sister. I got to babysit my nephews while my brother and his wife were in Hungary, I got to play with my nieces and nephew that live in South Jordan a ton, and I got to just relax. It was a wonderful summer and I feel rejuvinated and ready for school to start back up!

Cruise Pictures!

For those of you who read my blog and haven't seen these on facebook, here are the top 6 cruise pictures. It was magical!

We saw pirate ships, had towel pets made for us, went zip lining, saw birds on a cool rock, pretty scenery, and Justin made faces at a monkey. Hands down the best cruise I've ever been on. :)

T-Shirts

I love funny t-shirts. A few websites I like to look at these funny t-shirts on include threadless.com, snorgtees.com, and roadkilltshirts.com. Roadkill is a little more scandalous than the other two, but there are some funny t-shirts on there. I just wanted to post some pictures of some of the t-shirts that gave me a good chuckle tonight.

Cruising Bliss

I went on a cruise!!! It was so wonderful! I relaxed, slept a lot, ate a lot, and played in the ocean. As it turns out, the ocean is a little terrifying. I lived though. I also loved it so much! I will hopefully get around to posting some pictures someday.

Top Ten Reasons I Love Batman

Today I have a day off school. Thank goodness! School has been a little crazy mostly because the students haven't been able to go outside and have a break. It has either been too cold or the air quality has been dangerously bad so they've been inside since they came back from Christmas Break. They're going nuts! So anyway, I'm grateful to have a day off work.

For my day off I decided to watch some Batman. I bought myself the The Dark Knight Trilogy for Christmas and I have been super pleased with that decision. In order to celebrate that I thought I'd tell everyone just why I love Batman so much.

10. No guns, no killing. I like that policy in someone who stands for what's good.

9. "I'm Batman" is SUPER fun to say.

8. He doesn't have magical powers. Magical powers are cool sometimes, I do super love X-men, but Batman just does it all with sweet technology.

7. The movies are incredibly well done.

6. Alfred is wonderful.

5. Fancy cars

4. Phenomenally evil villains. They have interesting stories, they're terrifying, and they aren't stupid villains.

3. Commissioner Gordon and Officer Blake, both such excellent characters. Plus I really like the good guys.
